About Me
Our Story
Fertility, Trauma & Relationship Counselling

Hi, I'm Sarah and I run Infermind. I offer a deeply human, integrative approach to therapy that recognises the complexity of every life journey. Whether you're facing anxiety, grief, identity issues or fertility struggles, I create a space where your feelings are heard, not judged. With personal and professional insight into adoption and infertility, I support individuals and couples through pain, joy, uncertainty, and growth. My work is grounded in evidence-based approaches including CBT, Person-Centred and Transactional Analysis, always tailored to your unique story. Let's walk through this together.

L.S.

Welcome to Infermind, my private counselling service. I’m Sarah, an experienced and registered integrative therapist (BACP, BICA). With a background in managing NHS counselling services, I work with adults across Manchester and Wilmslow, as well as online, offering a safe and grounded space to explore your emotional wellbeing.

I support a wide range of concerns including anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, and identity loss. I also specialise in fertility counselling, childlessness, miscarriage, and adoption support, drawing on my own lived experiences to offer empathy, depth, and understanding. I believe therapy should be part of everyday wellness, not a last resort.

Every session is tailored, combining Person-Centred Therapy, CBT, and TA to suit you. Whether you’re navigating change or simply seeking clarity, Infermind offers a space to reconnect with your true self and find strength in vulnerability.

What qualifications does the counsellor have?

I’m a registered integrative counsellor and a member of both the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the British Infertility Counselling Association (BICA). I’m DBS-checked, fully insured, and work under the supervision of a BACP-accredited supervisor.

What types of counselling do you offer?

I provide therapy for adults — both individuals and couples — with sessions available in-person (Wilmslow or Manchester City Centre) or online. I support clients with anxiety, trauma, loss, fertility challenges, identity issues, adoption journeys, and relationship concerns.

What is integrative counselling?

Integrative counselling means drawing from multiple therapy models to suit each person. I blend Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Transactional Analysis (TA), offering a flexible, human-centred approach tailored to your needs.

Do you specialise in fertility or adoption support?

Yes. I’m a BICA-registered fertility counsellor. I support individuals and couples dealing with infertility, IVF, miscarriage, childlessness, and donor conception. I also work with adoptees and adoptive parents facing identity shifts, grief, bonding difficulties, or post-adoption stress.

What happens during the first session?

The first session is a gentle introduction — a space to talk about what’s brought you to therapy and what support might look like. There’s no pressure, just the opportunity to explore how you’re feeling in a calm, safe environment.

Is counselling only for people in crisis?

No. Counselling can be a regular tool for emotional maintenance and growth — like a verbal vitamin for your mental health. Many people use therapy not just to cope, but to better understand themselves and navigate everyday life with clarity.

How do I know if counselling is right for me?

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure, therapy can help. You don’t need a diagnosis or a dramatic reason. If something doesn’t feel right, that’s reason enough — and we’ll work together to explore what’s going on.
